I agree that they are spending a lot of time just dumping answers on our screens, and I think the problem with lost is that it is like a magic trick. You see it and it is a wondrous thing to behold, and you simply can't rest until you know how it is done. However, when you see the answer of how it is done, its rather mundane and boring, and even feel silly for either not figuring out ourselves or having such an investment in it.
I hope to have another post up soon about some random lost thoughts, and how I hope they aren't skimping on the detail in order to get the amount of material out that they need to.

While Season five handled time travel beautifully and included some of the best episodes ever (Desmond ricocheting between past and present trying to find Penny was one imo), this season has so far been disappointing. It's as though the writers all got together and said, right, we've got all these loose ends, this long list of points that ought to be explained, so in the few episodes we've got left let's tie up everything. And they're going through the list now knocking off each item like a ducks lined up on a fence - at the expense of the overarching storyline. Personally, I'd like to see them focus on the mirrors that Jack saw, and maybe the alternate reality that seems to have been created. That can create more than enough food for thought for the episodes that remain.
